Karolyn Grimes

zuzu

An opportunity to hear from a legend.

Karolyn, who portrayed Zuzu in 1946 in "It's a Wonderful Life", accepted our invitation to Fernwood to share her story and it was truly a Wonderful weekend in Fernwood.

Since Karolyn's childhood role in the classic movie, she has lived the meaning of the quote "No man is a failure who has friends."

Friendship is clearly important in our community of Fernwood. It keeps us lingering in the square, or in the lovely little places where we can eat and drink in this neighbourhood. It keeps groups of artists and actors working together to provide cultural experiences for the community.

We believe that Fernwood is a lot like Bedford Falls, the beautiful, caring, grounded community in "It's a Wonderful Life". A community where friendship overcomes problems. That's why we invited Karolyn to come here and speak to us about her life and the values of the movie.

"No man is a failure who has friends," is one of the many memorable quotes from a movie that we know is a favourite to many in our community of Fernwood: Frank Capra's "It's a Wonderful Life".

http://www.zuzu.net/ Is Karolyn's own website.

Here is one of Zuzu's quotes:

"I'm not sleepy. I want to look at my flower."

We believe that appreciating the beauty of small things (and big things) is part of what makes our great community so special.
